Our Mission & Charism
The members of the Emmaus family aim to grow in their relationship with Christ, especially in constant adoration of the Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of the life of the Church.
It is in the Eucharist where members find all their energy, enthusiasm, and strength to follow Christ and help Him extend the Kingdom of Heaven. As an apostolic group, we will help in the mission of the Church so that the good news of the Gospel reaches all corners of our diocese, especially in our families and parishes, providing our parishes with men and women of faith who want to adore Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
Therefore, our charism—that is, the way in which the Holy Spirit has been guiding our group—will be adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Our group seeks to be constantly at the foot of the Tabernacle, in adoration chapels, group Holy Hours, Eucharistic Congresses, and above all, to continuously grow in the intellectual and spiritual knowledge of the Holy Eucharist.
Membership Requirements
To fully belong to our apostolic group, the invited member must:
- Have participated in the initiation retreat.
- Have served at a retreat.
- Participate in group meetings.
- Participate in the Eucharistic Hour.
- Attend workshops and courses offered by the group or diocese.
Our Daily Life
Our daily life includes the following devotions:
- Lectio Divina - Gospel reading with at least 30 minutes of reflection.
- Praying Morning Prayer (Lauds).
- Invocation to the Holy Spirit at 9:00 am.
- Praying the Angelus at noon to remember the Word became Flesh.
- Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 pm.
- Private or communal Evening Prayer (Vespers).
- Family Rosary as a way to gather our children before sleep and give them a blessing.
- Daily examination of conscience.
