Julio Dominguez
Father Julio C. Dominguez was appointed as pastor to shepherd the community of St. Joseph into its next chapter, operating under the diocesan leadership of the Most Reverend Michael T. Martin, OFM Conv., Bishop of Charlotte.
As the first Hispanic pastor in the history of St. Joseph—a parish with a large and vibrant Hispanic population—Father Julio has been a profound blessing to our community. Under his leadership, the spiritual and numerical growth of St. Joseph continues to flourish. Father Julio is deeply committed to shepherding the parish in the universal tradition of the Roman Catholic faith, ensuring that the church remains a steadfast beacon of truth and sacramental life.
A central hallmark of his pastorate has been a dedicated effort to bring the traditional beauty of a Catholic parish to St. Joseph, focusing on the reverence of the sanctuary and the cultivation of the parish grounds as truly fitting for the House of God. By introducing the ancient monastic principle of Ora et Labora (prayer and work), Father Julio has beautifully unified our diverse cultures, bringing both the English- and Spanish-speaking communities together to labor side-by-side in tending to and beautifying their spiritual home.

Scott Gillfillan
Deacon Scott D. Gilfillan was ordained a Catholic deacon in 2001 and has spent more than two decades serving in pastoral care, prison ministry, outreach to the homeless, retreat ministry, and spiritual formation. He previously served for many years as Director of Deacon Formation for the Diocese of Charlotte, shepherding deacon candidates and their spouses through discernment and formation.
From 2018 to 2024, he served as Executive Director of a large retreat center in Western North Carolina, where he deepened his focus on retreats, small-group workshops, and spiritual direction. He completed the certification requirements for spiritual direction through Divine Mercy University, where formation integrates the human sciences with a contemplative-evocative approach rooted in deep listening and attentiveness to the movement of the Holy Spirit. He also received supervisory training through the Lanteri Institute of Jesuit Spirituality and now serves on the faculty of the School of Spiritual Direction at Divine Mercy University.
Deacon Scott is the founder and Executive Director of Font of Mercy. He and his wife have been married for more than 40 years and are the blessed parents of three children. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, writing, and spending time with his wife at their cabin on the lake.

Kara Antonio
Kara Antonio serves as the Office Manager and Director of Religious Education at St. Joseph Catholic Church. With a deep devotion to faith formation and parish administration, Kara coordinates religious education programs, supports our catechists, and ensures the smooth daily operations of the parish office.
She is dedicated to fostering a warm, organized, and welcoming environment for all parishioners, assisting families in their faith journey, and helping children and youth grow closer to Christ through sacramental preparation and spiritual growth.
Alex Diaz
Alex Diaz serves as the Director of Technology & Communications at St. Joseph Catholic Church. As a bilingual professional fluent in both English and Spanish, Alex ensures seamless communication across our diverse parish community, bridging cultural gaps and shepherding our digital presence.
In his role, Alex oversees the parish's technological infrastructure, web development, and digital outreach, helping to keep our parishioners informed, connected, and spiritually engaged through modern media channels.
